Narrow-Bore Columns
- the next step in size-exclusion chromatography -

Not just for the actual shortage of acetonitrile, but even more for economical and ecological reasons every responsible person in a lab should think about the reduction of the ID of the employed column hardware. Thanks to actual developments of modern GPC-SEC-column technology - starting from column hardware to packing techniques up to improvements in bulk media - state-of-the-art narrow-bore-columns like MZ-GelSDplus can be employed in all kind of standard-GPC-equipment. Without loss of efficiency or reproducibility - while cost efficiency is widely improved.

Narrow-bore columns have an inner diameter of 4,6 mm - just between standard analytical columns with 8 mm inner diameter and micro-bore columns (3 mm and less ID) for very special tasks.

While micro-bore columns can only be used in specially equipped chromatography hardware, the narrow-bore columns may directly be run (only little optimization needed) in standard equipment.

MZ-GelSDplus narrow-bore-columns show the following features:

  • running narrow-bore-columns instead of analytical columns
saves up to 70 % of eluent
  • therefore up to 70 % less pollution
  • narrow-bore-columns are less sensitive against variation in flow:
they show a more flat curve than Analytical columns
  • excellent separations
  • high long-term-stability and reproducibility
  • may be used with standard-equipment
