Already available in stock is Halo™ Peptide ES-C18 - the eagerly awaited stationary phase for the separation of biomolecules based on FusedCore™-particle technology. Like in the case of "standard"-Halo™ stationary phase with 90 Å pore size, the particles consist of an 1.7 µm nonporous and ultrastable core of pure silica, onto which a 500 nm thick shell of wide-porous silica is fused, which is accessible for up to medium-sized proteins or large polypetides.

Halo™ Peptide ES-C18 features 170 Å pore size and 2.7 µm particle size - enabling efficiencies only sub-2µm particles can offer, while the backpressure values is kept in the range standard-HPLC-equipment can handle. All together this means that Halo™ offers true UHPLC™-performance in standard HPLC-equipment. Hichrom™ Acquire the Beckman Ultrasphere™
HPLC Range

Hichrom™ has acquired the Ultrasphere™ HPLC column range from Beckman Coulter™. Under the terms of the acquisition, Beckman will continue to sell Ultrasphere™ products until 31st December 2009. Beckman has already ceased manufacturing Ultrasphere™ columns and once stock of a particular item is depleted they will immediately refer customers to Hichrom™. International enquiries from end users will be directed through the distributor network. So far, all prices will be stable until 2010 also for Hichrom™ manufactured Ultrasphere™ columns. The original Beckman Ultrasphere™ part numbers will be retained. As official distributor for all Hichrom™ products in Germany, MZ-Analysentechnik is able to provide customers with Ultrasphere™ columns including full support.

Inertsil™ C8-4 is the latest development of the “-4“-series by GL Sciences. Thanks to the special octyl-bonded phase analysis-times are much shortened compared to C18-bonded stationary phases. Imtakt™ Scherzo SM-C18
Reversed-Phase + Normal Phase + Ion Exchange in One Column!

Scherzo SM-C18 is the world's first multi-mode ODS column and the latest entry in the series of revolutionary stationary phases from Imtakt (Japan). Many compounds related to pharmacology, food and biochemistry are highly polar - requiring the use of ion-pairing additives in the mobile phase to be retained in reversed-phase chromatography. Scherzo SM-C18 with its unique "Multi-mode ODS" functionality is capable to overcome this disadvantage employing a uniformly blended packing material, which consists of two types of highly pure and porous silica particles with 13 nm pore size: 3 µm silica substituted with ODS + cation ligands and 3 µm silica substituted with ODS + anion ligands. Inertsil® ODS-3 is now also available in 2 µm particle size for High-Speed Separations. Its highly pure base silica offers a high chemical and mechanical stability, enabling the continuous use of these columns at pressures up to 50 MPa without loss of performance. Due to a proper mesh size with thoroughly elimination of fine particles and a column length of 50 mm and 2.1 or 3.0 mm ID, Inertsil® ODS3 2 µm columns may be used in standard-HPLC-equipment; please check also the original-product-information by GL Sciences. Inertsil® ODS-3 2 µm columns allow a shortening of the analysis time down to 1/5 of the value of 5 µm-media and even to 1/3 compared to 3 µm media, where the pressure range is between 20-30 MPa, enabling to perform High-Speed separations for high-throughput analysis in standard-HPLC equipment.

On July 8th 2007 Akzo Nobel revealed Kromasil® AmyCoat™, which is now ready for shipping to customers in the field of chiral separations. The special media for chiral chromatography is - like last year introduced cellulose-based CelluCoat™ - based on an ultra stable silica skeleton, onto which the amylose-based polymer coating is covalently bound. Therefore, AmyCoat™ and CelluCoat™ possess a high mechanical and chemical stability in combination with excellent efficiencies of the packed columns. AmyCoat™ and CelluCoat™ are available in particle sizes from 3 µm and above. The excellent pressure stability allows to perform separations at high flow rates, enabling very fast chiral separations. Inertsil ODS-3 4µm

...the Best of Both Worlds

Now shipping: Inertsil ODS-3-columns by GL Sciences with 4 µm particle size. This material exhibits only half of the backpressure of standard-3 µm packing media but delivers a 15% improvement in column efficiency compared to 5 µm columns, while the H-vs-u-curve is less steep. As the frits are identical with those used for 5 µm columns, less clogging problems occur, resulting in extended column lifetime and improved ease of use in comparison with 3 µm columns.
